POSITION OVERVIEW

We're seeking enthusiastic part-time Retail Sales Associates to join our opening team. You’ll be the friendly face of our retail area, assisting customers with game recommendations, ringing up purchases, organizing displays, and helping facilitate in-store events and tournaments

Ideal candidates are retail sales pros with a passion for games (board, card, RPG, or TCGs), strong attention to detail, and a team-first attitude. This is a unique chance to help shape the early days of a welcoming and inclusive community hub.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Experience

  • Assist customers with purchases, recommendations, and product knowledge across board games, TCGs, RPGs, miniatures, and more
  • Provide warm, knowledgeable, and efficient service to all customers
  • Handle cash, POS transactions, and loyalty programs accurately and with care
  • Build relationships with regulars and help foster a fun, inclusive environment
  • Share enthusiasm for tabletop games when engaging with guests

Retail Operations

  • Keep retail shelves clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Receive and process shipments, price items, and stock inventory
  • Set up displays and keep the store looking fresh and inviting
  • Provide guidance to new players or curious customers
  • Assist with in-store events like game nights, tournaments, or RPG sessions
  • Maintain general store cleanliness including sweeping, organizing, and restocking
  • Adhere to opening and closing procedures
  • Keep calm and work efficiently during peak rushes

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers
  • Support fellow team members in both the cafe and retail areas as needed
  • Follow company policies and help maintain a safe and inclusive workspace

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends.
  • Able to work 2–4 shifts per week, including evenings or weekends
  • Able to stand for 6-8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform basic physical tasks (e.g., restocking, sweeping, cleaning)
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Comfortable using POS systems and doing mental math for quick, accurate transactions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in retail or a customer-facing role, previous experience working in a hobby/game store is a plus
  • Familiarity with tabletop games, trading card games (e.g., Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon), RPGs (like D&D), or miniature gaming
  • Passion for board games, trading card games (e.g., Magic: The Gathering), or tabletop RPGs
  • Event facilitation or tournament organizing experience
  • Comfortable teaching games or explaining gameplay mechanics to new players
